Wolviston F.C. due to injury and sickness were forced into turning out a much changed team from the one that gained a point at Hartlepool last wednesday. Wolvo attacked from the start and on 14 mins Sam Simpson tried a quick shot but his effort was comfortably held by Leams keeper Ellis Gray. On 20 mins an accurate corner taken by Matty Bendelow to the near post was met superbly by Junior Masandi to nod Wolvo in front. 5 mins later Leams Ben Johnson was put clear but Kallen Waterman in the Wolvo goal made a superb save with his legs. Minutes later the young shot stopper was called into action once again this time facing a free kick from Ryan Boyle which he parried and the rebound was cleared by Jae Wilson. With 4 mins remaining a cross from Harry Minto was headed over from close range by Masandi. On the stroke of half time an absolute fantastic ball down the left by Bendelow found Minto whose final shot went inches wide.
H.T. 1-0
From the restart Wolvo continued to attack and good interplay between the Simpson twins Joe and Sam saw the latters shot well held by Gray. A long curling shot on 51 mins by Minto sailed over the bar. On 57 mins fine footwork by Minto was nearly rewarded when his cross found Jamie Roberts but his powerful drive went wide. On 70 mins a run down the right by Sam Simpson found his cross finding sub Keefe McGrath at the far post to bundle home his first goal of the season and increase Wolvos lead. Waterman in the Wolvo goal then made two wonderful saves in the space of two minutes, firstly denying Kieran Symmington then quickly smothering sub Sudip Kumar-Oli close range effort. On 77 mins McGrath fed new boy Charlie Thompson who smashed a beauty into the top corner from the edge of the box to put Wolvo well in command. 3 mins later super sub Thompson raced clear on the right after being put through by Liam Enderwick to score from a tight angle. 3 mins remaining Enderwick intercepted a pass from keeper Gray but saw his first time effort hit the bar.
