Tanksgiving for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Football was the winner today — as Billingham Town and Wolviston U13s came together for a special charity match in support of Theo Snaith and an incredible cause close to many hearts. The scoreline may have finished 4–1 to Town, but it doesn’t even begin to reflect how close and competitive this game really was.

Despite Billingham playing two divisions higher and fielding a few extra reinforcements — Wolviston were more than a match throughout, playing some of their best football of the season on what was a large, energy-sapping pitch. It was a proud showing from the kids who didn’t just turn up — they turned on the style.

The match was full of heart, skill, and moments that made it a cracking watch for any neutral. Every player left it all on the pitch, with tackles flying in, clever passing moves, and non-stop running from start to finish — all while battling the chilly wind!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support, cheer, and donate. It was a long day for the kids (and possibly an even longer one for the adults in the cold!), but every minute and every cheer helped raise money for a brilliant cause. A big shoutout as well to Coach Robbie, who might need a couple of warm Jäger bombs in Yarm after braving the touchline winds!

Both clubs should be immensely proud of their part in making the day such a success. There was great football, great spirit, and most importantly, great community.
