Our U10 Girls lit up the Washington Athletic YFC Charity Fundraiser Tournament today – and what a bank holiday Monday it was!

Taking part in a brilliant event raising funds for Melanoma-Me Foundation, the girls showed up in style and put on a proper footballing masterclass. Six tough matches, six new opponents – and not a single defeat. In fact… not a single goal conceded in open play all day! Simply unreal.

The girls were solid from back to front – a fortress at the back, fierce in midfield, and fearless up top. When it came to penalties, they slotted them away like pros – with our keepers making game-saving stops to secure the win. Absolute composure under pressure!

They played with heart and determination – a couple even pushing through knocks to be there for their teammates. Tough doesn’t even begin to cover it. And the best bit? Every single player stepped up. There was no picking a ‘girl of the match’ – they all absolutely smashed it.

One parent said it best: “They all played awesome – such a gorgeous bunch!” Another? “I’m off for a can and a lie down!” – we feel you!

Special shoutout to Lucie, who was electric with the ball at her feet – she had the crowd cheering with every run down the wing.

A huge well done to the girls and a massive thank you to the organisers for such a fantastic cause. Football, fun, and fighting spirit – the Wolvo way!
