Wolviston Ladies 6–0 Brandon United Women

Ellie Errington led the scoring with a hat-trick and earned Player of the Match, while Lexi Simmonette struck twice and Georgia Dawes added another.

Playing in all blue against Brandon’s black and yellow, Wolviston controlled proceedings from the outset. The hosts moved the ball confidently, repeatedly working their way into the visitors’ half and leaving Brandon chasing possession for long spells.

The breakthrough arrived in the 25th minute following a beautifully worked move down the right. Georgia Dawes combined with Gabbi Welford, whose return pass released her towards the byline. Dawes delivered the cross for Errington to head home and give Wolviston a deserved lead.

The home side continued to dictate the tempo, and their patience brought a second goal just before the interval. Lucy Hart supplied Lexi Simmonette in the 44th minute to make it 2–0 at the break.

Changes in shape and personnel brought renewed attacking intent for the second half. With Wolviston comfortable defensively, the emphasis was on breaking lines and turning their dominance into further goals.

It took just three minutes for that approach to pay off. Michaela Garvey provided the assist as Errington finished at the back post to make it 3–0. In the 56th minute, Errington completed her hat-trick with an excellent left-footed finish, this time from a Lily Reynolds assist.

Wolviston maintained their pressure, and Dawes made it five in the 74th minute. Following a scramble in the penalty area, she fired into the roof of the net, with Reynolds registering her second assist of the afternoon.

Simmonette completed the scoring in the 84th minute, her persistent pressure rewarded with a second goal, assisted once again by Hart.

Behind the attacking display was an equally assured defensive performance. Brandon were limited to a solitary half-chance from distance, comfortably gathered by Courtney Wilson on an otherwise quiet afternoon for the home goalkeeper.

From the quality of their build-up play to their sharper attacking edge after the interval, this was a convincing team performance from Wolviston, capped by six goals and a deserved clean sheet.
