In this Washington Aged Peoples Cup Wolviston immediately took the game to league leaders Belmont Utd and should have found themselves 2-0 up after only 7 mins. First Lewis Snaith put Reece Chambers clear who won a race for the ball but his final shot hit visiting keeper Adam Ridlleys body and away to safety. This was followed three mins later when Louie Evans put Elliott Pledger clear but he also hit the legs of keeper Ridley. It took however only two more mins for Wolvo to go deservedly ahead when Bailey Geldhart put Lewis Snaith clear on the right who looked up and accurately lobbed Ridley from 25 yards from a difficult angle. Belmont equalised seven mins later when a speculative cross on the right by Lamin Bojang found Liam Butler who calmly stroked the ball into the left hand corner. On the stroke of half time an incident caused an inter team altercation which referee Ian Ellis quickly dealt with before it transpired into anything more serious.

The second half was a very even opening 15 mins without either side causing any serious problems. It took until the 69th min for sub Harry Minto to find Louie Evans who turned and shot just wide from a tight angle. On 71 mins Belmont took the lead when a corner from Dan Quine was bundled home off his chest at the far post by defender Craig Wilson. With 15 mins of the game remaining Belmont sealed their victory after a mis timed tackle on the half way line allowed sub Alfie Howard to race the length of the half and score with consummate ease.
