Wolvo's first game in a month & after the Christmas/New Year break was played at Metcalfe Park with the Villagers hoping the large & somewhat wet pitch would work to their advantage. On 7 minutes this looked like the case with Evans driving into the box & squaring to Minto to slide home for 1 nil. The lead was short lived with Middlestone equalising on 11 from what looked like an offside position but the referree's decision is the important one.

Not a lot happened in the rest of the first half other than Reece C trying his luck & Lewis missing a header wide

The second half became a goal fest starting with Middlestone on 51 & 54 with keeper Kallen having no chance of saving, compounded with an own goal on 59 by O'Gorman, Wolvo did reduce the arrears with 2 quick goals on 61 & 62 with Lewis & a cracker from Thompson.

Fitness and/or a lack of match practice in the last 10 minutes saw Middlestone hit 3 more goals & take the win 7 to 3.
