Wolviston F.C. travelled to Durham to take on league leaders Belmont Utd in determined attitude and started like an express train. Unfortunately the train came off the tracks after only 2 minutes when Wolvo leading scorer Lewis Snaith was taken to hospital with a suspected ACL injury. Wolvo attacked after an eight minute hold up and had two long range shots from Reece Chambers and Charlie Thompson which both went wide of the target with the Visitors looking the much better team. On 37 mins Harry Minto found Reece Chambers whose snap shot went agonisingly wide. Belmonts first attempt at goal came in the 46th min with Lamin Bojang shooting high and wide of the target which was quickly followed by Liam Butler hitting the side netting. Butler then headed over from a cross by Bojang.
H.T. 0-0
Within 2 mins of the restart Louis Evans found Chambers whose strong shot was held by keeper Adam Ridley. 8 mins later a free kick on the edge of the box was hit wide by Alex Snaith with Wolvo carrying on where they left off - on the attack. In the 70th min a free kick taken by skipper Lewis Hamilton found Craig Gilson at the far post to head powerfully home to put Belmont in front against run of play. With 2 mins remaining a mistake in the Wolvo defence allowed Belmonts Alfie Howard to find James Hudspeth who stroked home the league leaders second of the match.
F.T. 2-0
Footnote-this was a game that Wolvo deserved something from but due to two individual mistakes which hopefully we will learn from eventually lost 2-0
