In an incident packed game which swung from end to end WolvistonFC deservedly emerged victorious with a winning goal in the closing stages of the match. After 7 mins Wolvos Louis Evans burst clear and found the back of the net but his effort was disallowed for offside. A minute later the game exploded into action with visiting keeper Kallen Waterman shown the red card by ref Tom Blanchard for a blatant foul on Carl Finigan just outside the area. Coaches Paul Larkin and Stewart Bath had to sacrifice Joe Simpson to bring on sub Charlie Thomson who volunteered to go in goal. This undeterred Wolviston with Elliott Pledger shooting high from outside the 18 yard box. Wynyard took the lead in the 20th min after a corner by ex Wolvo player Haris Rafiq was headed powerfully home by ex Wolvo player Alex Goodman. Within a minute Wynyard were also reduced to ten men after Rafiq was dismissed for a heavy foul on Amoo Oluwakorede. Within a minute of the half remaining a Ben Pearson free kick shot was well saved by stand in keeper Thomson

It took Wolviston only 4 mins to equalise in the second period when James Corkish put Harry Minto down the right who in turn rounded keeper Jamie Ince to score with a difficult angled shot. This spurred Wolviston on and Pledger saw his strong shot well clawed away by Ince. The home keeper was again called into action 5 mins later by making 2 saves in a minute, the first by denying Evans followed up with a great block from Pledger. In the 58th min a cross from Joe Simpson was met by Minto who was presented with the simple task of running the ball home but he chose to shoot and skied his effort over the bar. Stand in keeper Thomson was called into action minutes later to save from an accurate drive from Wolvo old boy Aaron Ptohopoulos. Then down at the other end Ince had to be alert to save from Minto. A corner in the 79th min by Minto was powerfully headed goalwards by Chris Cotterill but again Wynyards MOM Ince brilliantly tipped away his effort. With 3 mins remaining the visitors took the lead with a good all round team goal. First Simpson found Isaac Pearson making his debut who in turn found Minto who combined to set up Elliott Pledger who hit the winner from the edge of the box. It was that man Pledger who again burst through but once again Ince saved magnificently.
