This was Wolviston FC's 4 game against FC Hartlepool Reserves this season & was played on a relatively dry Greyfields pitch in Hartlepool.

The home side from the off tried to play patient passing football but the Wolvo midfield & defence worked as one to keep any early chances well away from the goal. The first real attack came on 7 mins when a ball was played through for Harry but his shot was high over the bar, however a minute later good work saw Louie feed Cal Blair into the box but from a tight angle his shot was saved by Mulvihill in the FC goal.

Another attack on 11 was by Matty who intercepted a loose FC pass with his shot producing a save round the post for a corner that came to nothing. The next attack saw Harry feed Louie on 18 mins with the FC keeper saving with his feet, 5 mins later the same duo worked well together with Harry ultimately pulling his shot just wide of the post.

Finally on 24 mins Wolvo pressure paid dividends when great interplay by Matty & Louie saw the later feed Cal in the middle of the park & his first time shot just outside of the box rifled into the bottom left of the FC goal.

The last meaningful play of the first half saw Louise denied with a point blank header being saved by FC's keeper.

Half Time 0-1

The second half came to life immediately with FC bringing the score level after Kal in the Wolvo goal seemed to miss the ball & the FC player scoring with ease, however from the kick off Wolvo went up-field with Cal & Harry combining before Cal teed up Elliott to score & dampen FC's resolve.

For the next 20 mins little headway was seen from both teams until Wolvo got a freekick from about 25 yards out. It looked like Elliott was teeing up a direct shot at goal, FC to some extent had switched off & Cal wandered to the left of the box & rather than shooting Elliott passed to Cal who dropped his shoulder as the closest defender came in & powerfully blasted the ball over the keeper & into the top right corner to take the game to 3 -1 to Wolvo.

The last action was on 89 minutes when the ref continued to play on when Wolvo played a good offside tactic but FC played on to bring it back to 3 -2 but to no avail & Wolvo progress to the next round.
