With a much weakened side Wolviston FC took on struggling DRA U23s at Metcalfe Park, The opening 10 mins was spent with each team feeling each other out until a corner in the 13th min taken by Elliiot Pledger found Andy Jennings at the far post but the big striker headed over the bar. On 35 mins Joe Simpson put Pledger clear whose shot was pushed over the bar by 16 year old RA keeper Ben Williams. Wolvo took the lead on 35 mins after a free kick from Stewart Bath found Alex Snaith who in turn headed down to Louie Evans who shot and Snaith followed up the rebound to score courtesy of his elbow!(according to his Dad and Bro!).
H.T. 1-0
RA came out in the second period in determined fashion and Fletcher Coleman tested home keeper Kallen Waterman who pushed his effort away to safety. It came as no surprise when RA equalised on 58 mins when a cross by Brooklyn Moss caused hesitation from keeper Waterman and full back Gabe Broomes nipped into score. This was quickly followed with the visitors taking the lead after a deep cross from Kieran Brown was easily knocked home by Bailey Griffith. Wolvos woes were compounded a minute later with Jack Shaw taking advantage of slack defending to increase R.As lead. Wolvo pulled a goal back with 4 mins remaining when a nod down by Andy Jennings found Charlie Thompson who in turn passed to Elliott Pledger. The speedy striker and Clubs leading scorer unleashed a rocket of a shot into the top corner. 2 mins into added on time Wolvo remarkably equalised when an accurate cross from the right by Pledger was nudged home by Andy Jennings to take a share of the spoils.
