Playing DRA U23s for the second time in a week Wolviston FC attacked from the off but it was the home side that had 2 early chances. Kallen Waterman in the visitors goal denying Brooklyn Moss twice in 2 mins with two outstanding saves before Wolvo replied with Charlie Thompson seeing his effort blocked. This was quickly followed with Josh Chambers missing the target and Alex Snaith along with Chambers both having good efforts saved by R.A. keeper Ben Williams before the home team took the lead in the 27th minute. A defence splitting pass by Gabe Brooms found Max Hepworth who surged forward and slotted the ball under the body of Waterman. Wolvo replied with an equaliser on 36 minutes when a long throw by Alex Snaith found Chris Cotterill who in turn nodded down to Charlie Thompson to bundle the ball home from the edge of the 6 yard box. 2 mins later the game turned on its head with a truly outstanding goal. Passing between Joe Simpson and Josh Chambers was rewarded with the ball finding its way to Elliott Pledger with his back to the goal and he turned and curled an absolute beauty into the top corner past the despairing dive of Williams

Wolvo started the 2nd period strongly and Pledger had a good effort well saved by Williams before Alex Snaith missed the target twice within a couple of minutes. DRA rallied late in the game and both Bailey Griffiths and Max Hepworth were unlucky to see their efforts go agonisingly wide of the target. In a final flurry Wolvos man of the match Olu Wakerede Amoo delicately fed Elliott Pledger who decided to take on the whole of the RA defence single handed but saw his strong final shot well saved by Williams.

Wolvo now face the daunting trip to Ferryhill Athletic this coming Saturday who are going strongly to win the League.
