Promotion chasing Belmont Utd soon went in front on 2 mins after indecision between Charlie Thompson and keeper Kallen Waterman allowed Lamin Bojang to simply tap home. 2 mins later Steve Turner increased the visitors lead after yet more poor defending by the Wolvo defence. Wolvo however pulled a goal back on 6 mins when a long throw by Alex Snaith was back headed into the path of Elliot Pledger who smashed home from 6 yds. 1 min into added on time a defence splitting pass from Craig Gilson found James Hudspeth who slotted home Belmonts third.
H.T. 1-3
The second period became a bit of a stale mate with neither team creating many chances with the only highlight being a shot from Steve Pickard that Belmont keeper Adam Ridley dealt with comfortably.
Wolvo now require a point from their last league game at Shildon BR on Saturday 9th May to guarantee a fifth place finish in the First Division.
F.T. 1-3
Wolvos next game is the semi final of the Clem Smith Bowl at home to Deerness Valley this Saturday 2nd May for a 2.00pm kick off.
