With yet again a weakened side with injuries, work, holidays and BORO all taking their toll Wolvo quickly went behind in the first minute. A mistake at the back allowed Benji Urwin to simply tap home. The next 20 mins turned into a battle between the Valley forwards and Wolvo keeper Kallen Waterman who made several saves from Urwin, Ahmed Kilic and Sean Young to keep the scoreline respectable. On 35 mins Louis Evans carved out a chance for himself but as he was about to pull the trigger was dispossessed by a timely tackle from Alex Carr. On the stroke of half time Valley increased their lead after some magic footwork from 16 yr old Ahmed Kilic was rewarded when he danced through the Wolvo defence and stroked home in style.
H.T. 0-2
Seven minutes into the 2nd period Valley went even further in front after a defence splitting pass from Kilic found Benji Urwin at the far post to register his 2nd of the game. In a rare attack Evans brought out a fine save from Valley keeper James Brown in the 72nd min. 10 mins later Wolvo were awarded a penalty after Evans was brought down by keeper Brown and Jae Wilson once again confidently stroked home the spot kick. With 2 mins remaining Wolvo clawed their way back into the game with another goal when Alex Snaith accurately slotted the ball to Elliott Pledger who kept his composure to stroke home. Deep into added on time Valley keeper Brown clashed into Evans which looked in everyones eyes as a blatant penalty but ref Mathew Thornton waved away the appeals and blew for full time whilst both players had to receive lengthy treatment from both physios.
