Wolviston turned out a strong squad to face neighbours Wynyard Village but it was the visitors who started the game in determined fashion. After only 2 mins a chance fell to Wynyards Matty Wilson but his effort was blocked and Wolvo broke down the field to take the lead. A corner by Reece Chambers was met to perfection by central defender Chris Cotterill who powerfully headed home. Wynyard replied with a quick counter which saw Wilson break clear again but this time Wolvo keeper Kallen Waterman came to the rescue with a smart save with his legs. On 20 mins Wynyard had the ball in the net when Tom Lavender poked home but his effort was ruled offside by ref Ian Ellis. On 25 mins Owen Tweddle broke clear for Wynyard but once again Waterman came to the rescue with a fine save. Two minutes later Harry Minto dribbled to the byline and crossed for Josh Chambers whose first time snap shot was parried by visiting keeper Jack McCaully. On 36 mins another fine cross by Minto was met with his head by Jamie Roberts but sadly his effort went wide. On the stroke of half time yet another cross by Minto was met at the far post by Reece Chambers but the Wynyard keeper McCaully made a tremendous stop by parrying his effort wide to keep his team in the game.
H.T. 1-0
Within 2 mins of the restart a quick snap shot by Reece Chambers hit the bar before Wynyard broke away to equalise in the 48th min. A rare mistake at the back was punished with sub Liam Travers picking up the ball and drilling an angled drive past Waterman. With Wolvo now gradually getting on top it came as no surprise when they retook the lead in the 61st min. An accurate free kick by Josh Chambers found Andy Jennings at the far post who nodded across the face of goal to the other post to find Chris Cotterill who headed home his 2nd of the game. This was a thoroughly deserved victory by a fine team performance.
