NEXT UP: WOLVO HIT THE ROAD TO SHILDON
Two wins from two. Third in the table. Another big Wearside League test awaits.
Wolviston FC are back in Wearside League Division One action on Wednesday 26 August, making the trip to face Shildon Railway.
It has been an excellent start to the league campaign for Wolvo, with two wins from the opening two matches, seven goals scored and six points on the board.
That early form sees Wolviston sitting third in the table, level on points with Consett Blackfyne and Gateshead Leam Rangers Reserves, while having played fewer games than both.
Wednesday’s hosts have also made a competitive start.
Shildon Railway currently sit fifth, having taken four points from their opening three matches. Their record of one win, one draw and one defeat has seen them score 11 goals already, meaning Wolvo can expect another demanding test on the road.
A chance to build momentum
The opening weeks of a season are all about finding rhythm, building confidence and putting points on the board.
Wolviston have done exactly that so far.
Back-to-back victories have given the lads the perfect platform, but nobody will be getting carried away this early in the campaign. With plenty of football still to come, every point matters and Wednesday provides another opportunity to keep that positive momentum moving.
Shildon will have ambitions of their own and, with home advantage behind them, Wolvo will need to be switched on from the first whistle.
It has all the ingredients for another entertaining Wearside League encounter.
