2. The Club Badge

The wolf is the anglo saxon interpretation of the village of Wolviston. It's pose is called pasant which means its right front paw is raised and its head is looking in the opposite direction. In the small village of Wolviston in bygone days there were 12 churches, which was very unusual for a village of that size. They all had to be locked to prevent vagabonds and thieves from stealing the gold and silver chalices they contained. The main church warden was nominated from the church of St Peters and it was his duty to lock all the churches each night and store keys in Wolviston St Peters Church, hence the crossed keys in the emblem. The original name of the football club was also Wolviston St Peters FC.

Our latin motto of "fines excelsi" translates roughly to "one standard".
