3. Metcalfe Park

In 1984 we purchased 7 acres of land from the Wynyard Estate of Lord Londonderry and developed it into two football pitches which we have continued to develop over the years. Our main pitch is enclosed with a post and rail fence and stand. We purchased building from ICI and transformed it into a club house with changing rooms, lounge bar, and toilets.

Our ground is called Metcalfe Park, named in honour of our late great Chairman Harry Metcalfe who tragically passed away in 1986 after serving the club for 40 years as player, committee man and finally chairman without ever seeing his dream come true of playing football on our own ground.

In our centenary year of 2010, the club lay hard standing to the perimeter of the main pitch and since also added a seated stand. This year the dugouts have been extended to accomodate larger squads and an additional stand has also been added.

We are continually striving to improve our facilities and the club have also recently attained planning permission for floodlights to the main pitch. These will enable our promotion to the Northern League, should the team continue their recent successes.

If you'd like to contribute towards these floodlights, please check out our Floodlights for Promotion Fundraiser
