What a rollercoaster of a morning for our U7s as they took on a lively Middlesbrough side! The boys arrived buzzing with excitement, ready to give it their all. From the first whistle, it was clear this would be a test of teamwork and resilience.

First Half Highlights

We started brightly, but as the game settled, our shape and teamwork wobbled a bit. Middlesbrough looked sharp and organised, but it was Wolviston who struck first! Jack opened the scoring with a composed finish, sending the team into celebration mode. The lead was short-lived though, with Boro hitting back almost instantly.

Archie then took centre stage, driving forward and linking up with Jack before tucking away a confident finish. At the back, Teddy was a rock— marshalling the defence with calm authority, while Dylan put in a shift, tackling hard and supporting his teammates. Oscar stepped in bravely when Austin needed a breather, showing real team spirit.

Despite our efforts, we found it tough to keep Boro at bay, as they made the most of their chances.

Second Half Drama

The team talk at half-time didn’t quite have the desired effect with Boro taking control through slick passing and teamwork. Still, Teddy and Dylan led by example — Teddy pulling off some fantastic saves and Dylan battling all over the pitch.

Jack gave us another lift, calmly slotting home after a defensive mix-up. But Boro responded with a flurry of goals, testing our resolve. Archie managed to grab another for Wolviston, but Boro quickly replied again.

Every game is a chance to learn and the boys will regroup, take these lessons on board, and come back stronger next week.

Players of the Match

Teddy: Outstanding in goal! From the first minute, he organised the defence, made brave saves, and kept his head up no matter what. His leadership and composure gave the team a solid platform—brilliant effort, Teddy!

Dylan: Tireless and committed from start to finish. Dylan battled for every ball, tracked runners, and wasn’t afraid to step forward and help in attack. His determination and attitude were a real highlight—superb work, Dylan!
