Wolviston FC Wildcats is Back – Inspiring the Next Generation of Wolvo Girls

Free girls-only football for ages 5–11, led by Wolviston FC Ladies coach and players. Have fun, make friends and give football a go!

Wolviston FC Wildcats is back!

Free girls-only football sessions return this October, led by Wolviston FC Ladies coach Dan Booty and members of our senior women’s squad giving girls aged 5–11 the chance to have fun, make friends and take their first steps into football.

From Wednesday 14 October, our Wildcats sessions return to Campus Hall at Marsh House Sports & Community Centre, running every Wednesday from 5.30pm–6.30pm.

And best of all – the sessions are completely FREE.

Wildcats is aimed exclusively at girls aged 5–11, whether they have never kicked a football before, already enjoy playing in the garden or playground, or simply want somewhere to have fun with their friends.

There are no trials, no pressure and no need for previous experience. The sessions are designed to be fun, friendly and non-competitive, helping girls build confidence, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy playing football.

Learn from the Wolviston FC Ladies

The sessions will be led by Wolviston FC Ladies coach Dan Booty, alongside three members of the Ladies squad – Ellie, Lily and Jess.

They will also be joined regularly by other players from across our two senior women’s teams throughout the season.

That connection is really important to us.

We want young girls coming through the doors at Wildcats to be able to see players from their own local club, talk to them, learn from them and realise that there is a pathway in football they can follow.

The girls taking their first kicks at Wildcats could be the players pulling on a Wolviston shirt for our senior teams in years to come.

A Growing Girls’ Pathway at Wolviston

Girls’ and women’s football continues to grow at Wolviston FC.

We already have an Under-12 girls’ team, while three girls currently play within our Under-15s, and at senior level Wolviston is proud to have two women’s teams, Wolviston FC Ladies and Wolviston FC United.

That gives us a pathway we are determined to keep developing, from a five-year-old trying football for the very first time right through to open-age football.

Our senior sides have made a fantastic start to the new season too, remaining unbeaten across their league campaigns, while Wolviston FC Ladies are also enjoying a brilliant run in The Women’s FA Cup.

After making club history in the competition, the Ladies now have another exciting challenge ahead as they prepare to face our neighbours Stockton Town Ladies in the next round.

We want the success and excitement around our senior teams to help inspire the next generation.

Could Wildcats Be Their First Step?

If you have a daughter, niece, granddaughter, family friend or someone you know aged 5–11 who might like to give football a try, bring them along.

They don’t need to own all the latest kit. They don’t need to already play for a team. And they certainly don’t need to worry about how good they are.

They just need to come along and have a go.

Wolviston FC Wildcats

As the group develops, we will also look to create new Wolviston FC girls’ teams from children attending the sessions, with start dates and age groups determined by demand.

Whether Wildcats becomes the start of a lifelong love of football, the beginning of a journey into one of our teams, or simply somewhere to spend an hour having fun with new friends, everyone will be welcome.

Come and be part of the pack.
